Copyright & content concerns

How we handle news, sources, and removal requests.

Lowry Crossing Civic Hub is an independent, resident-built resource. For local news and tracker updates, we write our own short summaries and link you to the original source. We do not republish other people’s articles, photos, maps, or videos.

We summarize — we don't copy

Every news card shows a brief factual summary written in our own words, the name of the outlet or agency, the original publish date, and a “Read the full story” button that opens the source in a new tab. We never reproduce full or partial article text.

We use our own graphics

We don’t copy or hotlink photos, maps, charts, or videos from news outlets or social media. We use neutral category graphics (road, construction, meeting, election, business) instead. Official government maps are linked, not embedded.

Every item links back

Items without a working link to the original source are not published. Paywalled sources are labeled “Subscriber content” and summarized only from their publicly visible headline and description.

Automated safeguards

After our assistant drafts a summary, we run an automated similarity check against the source. Anything too close to the original wording is rewritten or held for human review before it can appear.
