Get a FREE Texas Election Identification Certificate (EIC) at any DPS driver's license office. You just need to be a registered voter.

Available if you're 65+, have a disability, will be out of the county, or are confined in jail. Application must be received (not just postmarked) by the deadline.

Understanding Your Ballot

Elections happen at four levels of government. Here's what each one decides for Lowry Crossing residents.

Federal

President (every 4 years, next: 2028), 2 U.S. Senators (6-year staggered terms), 1 U.S. Representative per district (2-year terms). Texas has 38 congressional districts.

State

Governor, Lt. Governor, AG, and other executives serve 4-year terms. Texas Legislature: 31 Senators (4-year) + 150 Representatives (2-year). Texas judges are elected, not appointed.

County (Collin)

County Judge (chief executive), 4 Commissioners, County Clerk, District Clerk, District Attorney, Treasurer, and numerous judges. The county runs all elections.

City (Lowry Crossing)

Type A general law city with a Mayor and 8 Council Members organized into 4 wards (2 seats per ward). Municipal elections on the first Saturday in May. Mayor and council serve 2-year terms (one seat per ward is up each year for staggered terms).

  • Not declared mentally incapacitated by a court
